About This Quote

The idea behind this quote is that as a person grows older, they either learn from or they are taught by those around them. In other words, as a person gets older it is their responsibility to find out what they should know and what they need to learn from those around them. Although the idea of only learning from those who have already learned can be a limiting one, there is a certain amount of truth to it. Take the famous example of George Washington.

He was an extremely intelligent man who took it upon himself to be heavily involved in politics and other various aspects of his nation’s political system. Without any formal training, he was able to serve as the President of the United States during a time where his country was not very well equipped for such a task.
